Known issues for this generation
NHTSA recall 22V-412 (Ford 22S41) covers certain 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles whose high-voltage battery main contactors may overheat, which can cause a loss of drive power; Ford's remedy for that campaign was a free on-board software update. Ford then recalled extended-range cars again under 23V-687 (Ford 23S56) with a different fix — replacing the high-voltage battery junction box, required even on cars already repaired under 22V-412 — and expanded that campaign in 2025 as 25V-441, covering a further 239 extended range 2022 Mach-E vehicles. Separately, NHTSA recall 25V863 (Ford 25C69), which also covers the Maverick and F-150 Lightning, affects certain 2024-2026 Mach-E models whose integrated park module may fail to lock into Park, creating a rollaway risk that Ford remedies with an over-the-air or dealer software update.
