Each year is complaints filed in that year’s first 3 years on the road, divided by however many of those years have passed. A model year younger than 3 years is too early to compare, so it is left out of the years named as having the fewest or the most complaints. Recalls are a separate count. The numbers are for the US-market Toyota Corolla Cross. How we count.

Known issues for this generation

NHTSA campaign 23V-384 covers certain 2022-2023 Corolla Cross vehicles whose instrument panel may lack the required perforation, which could keep the front-passenger air bag from deploying as intended under FMVSS 208. Toyota dealers inspect and replace the instrument panel when needed. Campaign 23V-864 re-inspected vehicles that had already been checked under 23V-384 because the panel could still fail the perforation requirement.
