Known issues for this generation

Honda technical service bulletin 20-029 covers 2019 Passport vehicles with the 9-speed automatic transmission that shift harshly or jerkily during steady acceleration; Honda traced the symptom to abnormal adaptation values stored in the transmission control module's software rather than to any mechanical fault. The remedy reprograms the transmission control module, after which the system needs about 500 miles of normal driving to relearn the owner's driving pattern before shift quality returns to normal. The bulletin does not apply to hard shifts produced by the paddle shifters or to vehicles with fewer than 500 miles on the odometer.
