GMC Canyon reliability by year
Each year is complaints filed in that year’s first 3 years on the road, divided by however many of those years have passed. A model year younger than 3 years is too early to compare, so it is left out of the years named as having the fewest or the most complaints. Recalls are a separate count. The numbers are for the US-market GMC Canyon. How we count.

NHTSA safety recall 12V594000 covers affected vehicles after the agency found that general Motors is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles manufactured from November 9, 2009, through August 28, 2012, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, "Hood Latch System." The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch. If the primary hood latch is not engaged, the hood could open unexpectedly. During vehicle operation, this could obstruct the view of the driver and increase the risk of a crash. Remedy: General Motors will notify owners and instruct them to inspect their vehicle for the presence of a secondary hood latch. Dealers will replace the hood on any affected vehicles, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC at 1-866-996-9463. When NHTSA lists multiple GM nameplates in one campaign, the published unit count is shared across them.

NHTSA campaign 18V-358 covers certain 2015-2018 GMC Canyon trucks (with Colorado, Malibu, Acadia, and other GM models): the high-pressure fuel pump may detach from its mounting flange and damage the high-pressure fuel line, creating a fuel-leak fire risk; dealers replace the pump and pipe. Campaign 17V-621 covers certain 2015-2016 Canyon and Colorado trucks where the driver's frontal air bag may improperly inflate during second-stage deployment; dealers replace the driver frontal air bag module. Shared campaign unit counts cover multiple GM nameplates.
