Each year is complaints filed in that year’s first 3 years on the road, divided by however many of those years have passed. A model year younger than 3 years is too early to compare, so it is left out of the years named as having the fewest or the most complaints. Recalls are a separate count. The numbers are for the US-market Audi e-tron. How we count.

Known issues for this generation

The first US e-tron years concentrate high-voltage electrical campaigns. NHTSA 19V-434 (Audi 93E8) covers early 2019 vehicles where moisture could enter the high-voltage battery through a charging-socket seal; dealers inspect for moisture and install a robustness package or replace HV components as needed. Later campaigns including NHTSA 23V-867 address high-voltage battery modules that may self-discharge or overheat, with interim charge limits and eventual diagnostic software. Owner complaints and TSB discussion also cite coolant intrusion into electric drive units on some early cars. Confirm every open HV and charging recall is closed on the VIN; this model has no engine oil specification.
