Known issues for this generation
NHTSA campaign 13V-442 covers certain 2012-2013 Venza vehicles (with 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, and Camry Hybrid) where a clogged air-conditioning condenser drain can let water reach the air bag control module and short it, disabling the air bags or causing inadvertent deployment and possibly interrupting power steering assist; dealers seal the condenser housing and add a protective cover on the module. Campaign 21V-257 covers certain 2009-2015 Venza vehicles in which repeated use of the driver-side front door can damage Supplemental Restraint System wiring so the driver-side side and curtain air bags may not deploy; Toyota’s recall numbers are 21TB01/21TA01, and dealers inspect and replace the door wire harness as needed.
