Each year is complaints filed in that year’s first 3 years on the road, divided by however many of those years have passed. A model year younger than 3 years is too early to compare, so it is left out of the years named as having the fewest or the most complaints. Recalls are a separate count. The numbers are for the US-market Toyota Land Cruiser. How we count.

Known issues for this generation

NHTSA campaign 18V887 covers certain 2008-2019 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles (and Lexus LX 570): over time, the seat belt tension sensor wire harness may break and deactivate the front passenger air bag, knee air bag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag. In the event of a crash, deactivated air bags can increase the risk of injury. Dealers modify the front passenger seat belt assembly or replace it with an improved one, as necessary, free of charge. Campaign 20V682 covers certain 2018-2019 Land Cruiser vehicles among a broader Toyota and Lexus population for a low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank that may fail; if the pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one, free of charge.

Known issues for this generation

NHTSA campaign 24V548 covers certain 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles, among other Toyota models, that were equipped with Gulf States Toyota (GST) accessories: the load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values, and the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash. GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge.
